Slowly I crept forward, very aware of the bright, revealing sunlight. I tentatively hold a baseball bat in my right hand, the wooden handle slipping under my sweaty grip.

“It really is bright out here,” I said slowly, each word carefully formed in my mouth.

“Hey,” said Will. “I am not forcing you to do this. If you want out, leave. Just don’t come to me when I’m rich and your broke.”

I’m 19, he’s 26. So we’re 7 years apart. I used to work with this guy (let’s call him R) about 2 years ago until both he left for another job and I left for college. We would somewhat keep in touch throughout the last time we saw each other over a social networking site (I lost his number as time went on), but when he and I discussed our meeting plans, he had mine the whole time and texted me instead of facebook communicating.

Well, just as of recently (in December), he stepped back into my life physically. I messaged him over Facebook asking him for tips on fingerpicking on the guitar. He offered to meet up with me in person to help me out, but I said I’d try out the tips he gave me first. Then I decided to go ahead and meet him.
