My boyfriend’s family has a very sarcastic sense of humor. For example they will joke around when my boyfriend isn’t right on time to meet me somewhere, that he is with some other girl. I joke back and pretend that I am going to hurt them. Even his parents joke around this way with everyone else. I actually find it funny and I know how to take a joke. I also have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor.

I am looking for death records on the family that built my house in an attempt to get any kind of information at all.

These records are from 1840-1878. In Maine, an effort was made to index all these old death records right around 1903-1904.

I went to the town office that *should* have the records.

I was told that I am not allowed to go find my own records, I have to pay them $ 10 an hour “research fee”.

Then I was told that I can’t just get a copy, or take notes, I have to pay $ 15 each for a certified copy. I explained repeatedly that I do not need a certified copy, I just want to take notes and the secretary insisted that no one but the office employees can look for the records and I can’t see the actual record, I have to buy it.

my mom wondered that, but in houston you cant, because the former owners who lost their house would come and hurt/kill the new owners… it might be somewhat dangerous to do that, u should look into it and also look into the former owners of the house you would be interested in…
